概要	This is a 7-year longitudinal ethnographic study of female Chinese students in Japan. Based on multiple sources of data　and drawing on poststructuralist theories of subjectivity, discourse and power, I interpreted these students’ social experiences in Japan. The research findings show that imagined communities, social translocation, third space, and ideological becoming represent the themes emerged at different stages of these students’ social experience in Japan.
