概要	This study aimed to improve our understanding of the BMR’s past and present situations by evaluating its urban structure and to forecast its future. It analyzed the characteristics and compositions of commercial and service sector activities agglomerating in the BMR’s subcenters, which were officially designated by past comprehensive plans. The authors conducted four times survey for every 10 years; 1988, 1998, 2008 and 2018. The field surveys have been conducted of all 60 subcenters to count commercial and business activities for last 30 years. The study found that in term of activities agglomerated in subcenter are largely declining and largely increasing over three decades.
